Reception Committee

Dear members of the K.N.P.S.V.,

The time has finally come: after a 10-year wait, there will be another international pharmaceutical student congress in the Netherlands in 2028. It is up to the Reception Committee (RC) to make this happen. We will work extremely diligently to ensure that the IPSF European Regional Symposium in July 2028 is an unforgettable event.

But without a fantastic team, nothing would happen, so I would like to introduce them to you.

Isis is the Vice Chairperson of the RC. She is currently studying Pharmacy in Utrecht, and she has already completed her bachelor’s degree in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences in Leiden. One of her favourite places in the Netherlands is the Dwingelderveld in Drenthe. She has been coming here multiple times a year since she was a baby, and has many great memories of this place. There are vast heathlands, forests, and small lakes, and it is perfect for long walks or cycling!

Our Secretary of the RC is Ruurd. He is currently studying for his masters in Drug Discovery Sciences in Amsterdam. One of his favourite places in the Netherlands is the harbour in his hometown of Volendam. It is such a beautiful place, especially in the morning as the sun rays bounce on the waves. Although he comes there most often in the evening he still thinks it is his favourite place to visit (if you manage to avoid the tourists that is :)).

Anna is the Treasurer of the RC. She has finished her bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and is currently doing a board year for the study association based in Amsterdam. One of her favourite places in the Netherlands is probably the Amsterdam forest. She likes to go there often to do all kinds of fun activities such as swimming, riding her bicycle or cuddling with baby goats.

The Sponsorships and Partnerships Officer of the RC is Vinzenz. He is initially from Austria, and moved to Amsterdam to study Drug Discovery Sciences as a Masters. His favourite spot is Texel, a little green spot of nature, where everything is biking distance and you can go from one side of the other within 30 minutes of biking.

Guten Tag! Our Public Relations Officer of the RC is Lucinda. She finished her bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences in Amsterdam and is currently taking a gap year working in her brother's fine-dining restaurant in Germany. Her favourite place in the Netherlands is Amsterdam, because it's got the goatfarm, Restaurant de Kas, Fort Negen, Hortus Botanicus and lots of places to get ice cream :).

Jonno is the Logistics Officer of the RC. One of his favourite places in the Netherlands is the Amsterdamse Bos. He visited this forest a lot in his high school days, and still loves going for a walk here. In summertime, you can sometimes find him swimming at the Kanovijver, except when the water is once again invested with blue-green algae of course.

Camille is our Education Logistics Officer and she is currently in her second year of a Pharmacy Master’s at Utrecht University. Her favourite places in the Netherlands are by the sea, especially where the dunes and forest meet. She loves going for walks there with her dog and friends and enjoying the peaceful nature.

Our Social Events Officer is Thijn. He’s studying Pharmacy in Utrecht and is currently in the first year of the master’s programme. His favourite places to go to in the Netherlands are all kinds of forests for climbing or the Arkemheen Nature Reserve for the great variety of birds you can see.

Allison is the Registrations Officer of the RC. She studies Pharmaceutical Sciences in Amsterdam. Her favourite place in the Netherlands is the ‘Cabin in the Jungle’, which has a beautiful view over the city of Utrecht. From there, you can clearly see the Dom Tower, the tallest church tower in the Netherlands.

Finally, it's my turn. I am Brian Schilder and the Chairperson of the Reception Committee. I study pharmaceutical sciences in Utrecht and my favourite place in the Netherlands is the North Holland dunes, with the sea on one side, beautiful forests in the dunes and the typical Dutch polders just behind them. It's a perfect combination of nature, peace and recreation.

We hope to see you at the European Regional Symposium in 2028!

Kind regards,

Brian Schilder

h.t. Chairperson of the Reception Committee
