Committee for Pharmaceutical Policy
Dear members of the K.N.P.S.V.,
The Committee for Pharmaceutical Policy is a relatively new committee within the K.N.P.S.V., established in 2022. The committee focuses on representing the interests of students from study associations affiliated with the K.N.P.S.V. This general representation of interests comprises two related categories: advocacy and policy.
Within the K.N.P.S.V., advocacy includes representing student interests, both during their studies and after graduation. This includes improving education, promoting good pharmacy practice and pursuing good working conditions. The policy category focuses on responding to and developing solutions for a wide range of issues. These may relate to education, pharmaceutical education in other countries or, for example, sustainability, such as the handling of pharmaceutical waste.
The Pharmaceutical Policy Committee works with various external parties, including professional associations such as the KNMP. It also collaborates with international organisations such as EPSA and IPSF.
The Committee for Pharmaceutical Policy organises the Policy Activity. This year, the theme of the day is advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
We would like to introduce ourselves:
Ping
Hi! I'm Ping and I'm doing a Master's in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences (a really fun programme). This is my second year on the committee, together with a really nice group of people. In my spare time, I like to visit new cafés or take a nap.
Nilay
Hey! I'm Nilay and I'm currently a third-year Bachelor's student in Pharmacy in Utrecht. Like Ping and Maggie, this is my second year on this committee. I'm very proud of what we've already achieved with this committee and hope that the coming year will be just as successful! In my spare time, I can often be found at the gym or hanging out with friends in the city.
Maggie
Hi, I'm Maggie and this academic year I started a master's degree in Pharmacy in Leiden. As mentioned earlier, I am delighted to be serving on this committee for a second year. In addition to my studies, I spend my free time discovering and trying out different hobbies. I look forward to organising another educational activity this year!
Ravi
Hi, I'm Raaf! This year, I am a third-year student of Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences in Leiden, specialising in Pharmacy. The Pharmaceutical Policy Committee is the first committee I have been involved in, but I quickly felt at home. When I'm not studying, you can usually find me walking around town, sitting at my computer, or lying in my reading chair.
Stijn
Hi, I'm Stijn and I'm in my third year of Pharmacy at the University of Groningen. The Pharmaceutical Policy Committee is the first committee of the K.N.P.S.V. that I'm involved in, and I'm also very active in various associations in Groningen. In life, I find nothing more beautiful or important than learning new things, which fortunately is very possible in both my studies and this committee. In my spare time, I don't really have any fixed activities, as long as it keeps me from getting bored.
Marlon
Hi, I'm Marlon! As one of the board members of the K.N.P.S.V., I have a seat on this wonderful committee. I study Pharmacy in Utrecht and am fascinated by discussions about healthcare and pharmacy. So it's great to be involved in everything this committee does this year. Outside of my more serious duties, I enjoy walking, often with a good podcast like “Napleiten” playing in the background.
Brian
Hey! I'm Brian. As commissioner of general affairs of the K.N.P.S.V., I, like Marlon, am joining the Pharmaceutical Policy Committee. I am a third-year student of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Utrecht. I look forward to organising a great activity together with the committee. In addition to my board duties, I enjoy listening to music, watching films or series, and occasionally reading a book.
We look forward to welcoming you to the next Policy Activity on 14 March 2026!
