Ph.V.D. "Hygeia"

The K.N.P.S.V. has one sorority: Ph.V.D. "Hygeia".

Dear K.N.P.S.V. members,

Since 2005, the K.N.P.S.V. has been enriched by a fantastic sorority — the Pharmaceutical Women’s Sorority “Hygeia”! Every year around January, one or more new ladies from each city are invited to join us. Thanks to this tradition, our society now consists of 64 enthusiastic members from Groningen, Leiden, Utrecht, and Amsterdam!

At Hygeia, socializing and having fun are at the heart of everything we do. We meet for dinner once a month and often end the evening with a few (or more) drinks in one of the four cities. Recognizable by our traditional pink accessory, we love attending the galas organized by the local associations, where you’ll always find us dancing the night away. Our members also frequently present at K.N.P.S.V. activities, so don’t hesitate to come talk to us if you have any questions or are interested in joining our lively sorority!

One of the true highlights of Hygeia are the Spring and Autumn Weekends, when we travel with a large group of girls to a random village somewhere in the Netherlands for a fun getaway. Whether it’s sports, relaxation, or a night out — everything is possible during a Hygeia weekend! This past year, in 2025, we celebrated our 4th Lustrum with a long weekend trip to Belgium, and we even went on an adventurous journey to Guatemala, where many of our members had truly unforgettable experiences. We also organized a fantastic gala together with L.P.H.D. “Don Durk”, as it was their lustrum year as well.

Besides our regular dinners and weekend trips, we also organize a variety of other events, such as a family day, a cycling dinner, and a summer activity planned by our newest members.

In short, Hygeia is all about having a great time and sharing wonderful experiences together! And because we don’t want to keep all this fun to ourselves, we host our annual karaoke night, which takes place after the January General Assembly of the K.N.P.S.V. or after the Professions Day, held every other year.
