Dear members of the K.N.P.S.V.,
With pride, I introduce our committee: we are Fobie, and this year we have the honor of publishing no less than four editions of the wonderful Folia Pharmaceutica. The Folia Pharmaceutica is the association magazine of the K.N.P.S.V., and we are very excited to surprise you this year with editions that are not only fun and entertaining to read but also educational and inspiring. Every few months a new edition centered around an interesting theme will appear. And don’t worry, despite our name you don’t need to be afraid of us or of our publications.
Here are the members of our committee:
Our president, Jomay:
Hi, my name is Jomay and this year I have the pleasure of being the president. I’m in my third year of studying Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and have the amazing opportunity to spend the first semester in Dublin, Ireland! Besides my passion for the Folia, I love riding my motorcycle, traveling and going to concerts. Since our committee is called Fobie, we also like to share our personal phobias. Mine is gerascophobia, the fear of growing older.
Our secretary, Daphne:
Hi, I’m Daphne! I’m 20 years old and in my third year of studying Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences. I’m the secretary of the folia this year and I’m very excited to create four beautiful editions together! In my free time, I enjoy photography, baking, and I’m often out on the water rowing. I have a mild fear of spiders (arachnophobia) and sudden traffic accidents.
Our treasurer, Thijmen:
Hi, my name is Thijmen and I am the treasurer of this year’s Folia. I am 23 years old and have been a member of the K.N.P.S.V. for six years now. Last year, I was the president of the International Committee, and besides I have also been a part of multiple committees within L.P.S.V. „Aesculapius” in Leiden. In my spare time, I play ‘korfbal’ at my local association, at which I’m in a team with friends, and I frequently go out to play pool billiards. In terms of fears, I occasionally experience the well-known FOMO: fear of missing out. I hope you will enjoy all the Folia’s we will publish this year!
Our first editor, Jeff:
Hello, I’m Jeff and this year I am Editor I of the Folia. I am currently in my third year of the bachelor Bio-Pharmaceutical Science in Leiden. In my free time I like to go to the gym, and I have an interest in everything technology, science and computer related. For the Folia I mainly focus on the graphic design aspect. The Folia will be the first time I’ve done graphic design outside of my own projects and I’m very excited to share the designs I’ve made! My biggest phobia is thalassophobia, which is the fear of deep waters.
Our second editor, Sofia:
Hi, my name is Sofia and I am the second editor of Folia. I’m currently in my second year of BFW in Leiden. This is my first time joining a committee, and I’m really enjoying it. Outside of my studies, I love painting, reading, exercising, and enjoying a nice cocktail. My phobia (to stay on theme, of course) is maggots and worms. I have quite an irrational fear of them and try to avoid them completely.
Our third editor, An-Marie:
Hey, I'm An-Marie! I'm from Belgium and I'm currently in my first year of the master’s degree BPS in Leiden. As editor of the Folia Pharmaceutica, I'm really looking forward to shaping this year's editions and to provide you with new scientific knowledge! I love good food, eating out in good company and drinking lots of tea. I play the violin and have a passion for classical music. My greatest fear is separation anxiety, for which there is unfortunately no phobia term.
We are very excited to take you along with us this year through our themes and stories. See you soon in the next edition of the Folia!
