EPSA

European Pharmaceutical Students’ Association – EPSA

EPSA is the European umbrella organization of pharmaceutical student associations. As a member of the K.N.P.S.V. you can become active on a European level at EPSA, for example by becoming a member of one of the Departments. You can also help to implement a project in the Netherlands that is implemented in different European countries.

In addition, you can participate in various EPSA activities like the EPSA Annual Congress in April, the Autumn Assembly in October, EPSA Summer University in the summer and the TWIN program (an exchange project for groups).

Via EPSA you can get into contact with students of pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences from all over Europe. You can find out how the study is organized in other countries and get to know students if, for example, you go to another European country for a while.
More information about EPSA can be found below. You can also take a look at the EPSA website: www.epsa-online.org

EPSA

The European Pharmaceutical Students ‘Association, EPSA, was established in 1978 as a European subcommittee of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, IPSF. EPSA officially became independent from IPSF in 1982 and registered in the Tribunal d’lllkirch, Strasbourg – France. EPSA represents 45 pharmacy associations in 37 European countries and more than 100,000 members. The goal of EPSA is: “To develop the interest and opinions of European pharmacy students and to encourage  contact and cooperation between them.”

K.N.P.S.V. members can become active in different ways within EPSA by taking place in one of the departments and participating in one of the congresses.

Departments

EPSA has several departments that set up and implement projects and/or campaigns. The four departments in which you can become active;

EPSA activiteiten
Various EPSA activities take place during the year. The most important activities are described below.

Annual congress
The most beautiful and biggest event of EPSA is the Annual Congress (AC). This six day congress is organized every year in April by another European country. At the congress, the ins and outs of EPSA will be discussed during the General Assembly (GA). Each EPSA country is represented in the GA by two ‘official delegates’. During the GA’s the new EPSA board is elected and the handover takes place. During the congress various trainings and workshops and various social and cultural activities will be organized. Every year the congress is concluded with a spectacular gala. The congress is a very nice way to get in touch with many European pharmacy students!

Autumn Assembly
The autumn Assembly is the second largest EPSA event and takes place in autumn. This congress looks like the AC, but it is a five day congress instead of six. The semi-annual GA takes place during this congress.

Summer University
Summer University takes place in the summer. The SU is seven days and is the perfect way to combine holidays with study related activities. During this week, various workshops and readings are held in the morning. After this educational part of the day, various social activities are organized in the afternoon and evening.

Annual Reception
The EPSA Annual Reception (AR) is organized in the spring with the aim to present the projects and work of EPSA to the honorary members, partners and sponsors of EPSA.

World Healthcare Students Symposium
The World Healthcare Students Symposium (WHSS) is organized in collaboration with IPSF and aims to improve cooperation between students from different disciplines at international, national, regional and local level.
